You know it's the Truth, because it attracts crazy people.
by schnell ini wish i was kidding, but i have heard this idea suggested lately as a defense of the wts.
this is god's organization, even though it attracts crazy people, and because it attracts crazy people.
"unlettered and ordinary," et cetera.. i don't get it.

Can you prove that our entire universe and existence is not a computer simulation?
by EndofMysteries inif you were a computer programmer and you were to create a simulated automated world, that would constantly evolve and self run after initial designs.
first you would have to code the rules, laws, and core elements of this world.
while this is being coded, the program is not run yet, so none of it exists.

This reminds me of a joke:
Bill Gates dies in a car accident. He finds himself in purgatory, being sized up by St. Peter.
"Well, Bill, I'm really confused on this call; I'm not sure whether to send you to Heaven or Hell. After all, you enormously helped society by putting a computer in almost every home in America, yet you also created that ghastly Windows 8. I'm going to do something I've never done before in your case; I'm going to let you decide where you want to go."
Bill replied, "Well, what's the difference between the two?"
St. Peter said, "I'm willing to let you visit both places briefly, if it will help your decision."
"Fine, but where should I go first?"
"I'll leave that up to you."
"Okay then," said Bill, "Let's try Hell first."
So Bill went to Hell. It was a beautiful, clean, sandy beach with clear waters and lots of bikini-clad women running around, playing in the water, laughing and frolicking about. The sun was shining; the temperature perfect. He was very pleased.
"This is great!" he told St. Peter. "If this is hell, I REALLY want to see heaven!"
"Fine," said St. Peter, and off they went.
Heaven was a place high in the clouds, with angels drifting about, playing harps and singing. It was nice, but not as enticing as Hell. Bill thought for a quick minute, and rendered his decision.
"Hmmm. I think I'd prefer Hell," he told St. Peter.
"Fine," retorted St. Peter, "as you desire."
So Bill Gates went to Hell.
Two weeks later, St. Peter decided to check on the late billionaire to see how he was doing in Hell. When he got there, he found Bill, shackled to a wall, screaming amongst hot flames in dark caves, being burned and tortured by demons.
"How's everything going?" he asked Bill.
Bill responded, with his voice filled with anguish and disappointment,
"this is awful! This is nothing like the Hell I visited two weeks ago! I can't believe this is happening! What happened to that other place, with the beautiful beaches, the scantily-clad women playing in the water?!??? "
"That was a demo," replied St. Peter.

The governing body are digging their own grave.
by atomant insurely the gb aren't naive enough to believe their own lies.what does it take for the majority of j dubs to wake up to themselves and finally realize that they are being robbed on all levels emotionally.financially, spiritually, intellectually and many other aspects of their day to day lives..

It's very unlikely that one of the GB members realises it's all a charade. The reason why I believe this is that watchtower career progression path (e.g. MS->Elder->Bethel->Bethel Elder->CO->DO->Branch Overseer->GB) acts as a kind of filter; in that, anyone who could possibly have it in them to realise that it's all a load of baloney, would have awakened by the time they got to GB level.
On the other hand, if one of the GB members was to wake up all of a sudden. It might be possible that they would feel trapped and continue to maintain the charade for fear of coming out and questioning the organization/system which looks after them so well.
It makes me wonder: If I were a GB member and I woke up all of a sudden, realizing it was all a charade, what would my exit strategy be? -

Very dark and confusing info...
by sp74bb insome internal sources in jw.org has brought me attention to the following data:.
- in which european country, not member of the eu, and well known for their banking industry, jw.org and some affiliated structures do maintain some business incorporated structures and companies?.
- which is the purpose of these business and company structures?.
-

The watchtower has company structures in lots of countries. Why is Switzerland so special?

You wear tight pants and you will be in trouble
by wannaexit ini was reading in another forum, that a letter to the elders instructed them to speak to anybody who persists in wearing tight pants.
if changes don't happen then the instructions are to disqualify him from being a publisher but it won't be announced to the congregation.
i am am curious to see if this letter will surface.
-
Dark Knight
Let's be fair guys. The tight pants rule also applies to molesters.
IF a molester wears tight pants then they would no longer be qualified to share in the ministry. (no announcement to be made either!)Yep, What a crazy cult!

Reminder about how posting limits work
by Simon inbecause some people still seem to struggle with the concept.. posting limits suck for normal posters and in an ideal world we could do without them but they do serve some useful purpose:.
they limit the impact of any spammers inundating the site.. the prevent people with too much time and no self-filter from completely taking over and / or trying to use the forum as a live-chat system.. they are a useful throttle for anyone behaving badly (i.e.
where an outright banning would be inappropriate).. normal posting limits are very rigid in that when you hit them, the post that you possibly spent a long time working on is gone (unless you saved it first).
-
Dark Knight
Hi Simon,
Does the post limit apply to everyone regardless of whether or not they have been on the forum for a long time, posted many times and established that they aren't a bot?
If not could this be added to the so that post limit only applies to certain members (newbies and posted under a certain amount) ?Cheers

No more printing of WT and Awake in my country.. Shit just got real
by cognitivedizzy inguys .
a letter was just read in out kh stating that all printing of wt and awake is ceased for the coming year and we will just place tracts on fs, countries which were cared by our branch will be cared by other countries...along with this they read the new fs form and stuff about reporting links of videos wtf..lol.
i can't tell which country perhaps that will give away a lot, any one with a similar information.
-
Dark Knight
Hi cognitive dizzy,
Any idea how much paper is left? So once the tracts are all out will it just be videos on tablets? There are so many poor people who don't have tech and reliable internet. How are they supposed to get the kingdom message?
